A staff member at a local juvenile facility was seriously injured while on the job last week.
According to State Police, a 24-year-old employee at George Junior Republic was escorting a 15-year-old resident through the facility last Monday when the resident began to resist.
Authorities say that during the incident, both individuals fell to the ground. While falling, the staff member struck his head on the corner of a chair and became unconscious before being struck by the resident.
Officials say that the employee was then transported to Grove City Hospital for treatment of a serious head injury, and was later flown to Allegheny General Hospital.
Police plan to file charges.
