Several people are facing charges following a disturbance earlier this week at a business in neighboring Mercer County.
According to State Police, multiple law enforcement agencies were dispatched around 6 a.m. Monday to Combined Tactical Systems in Green Township.
Officers found a group of about 35 protesters at the front gate of this business including five who were seated in front of the gate which they allegedly chained and padlocked shut. Numerous people were inside the facility at the time and unable to leave.
Many of the protesters ignored orders to disperse and the five people seated in front of the gate had to be cut apart from each other and the barricades shortly after noon. A total of five people from Philadelphia, Connecticut and Ohio have been charged with Riot, False Imprisonment, Failure to Disperse, Obstructing Administration of Law, and Criminal Trespass.
The exact reason for the protest was not stated by police but this business specializes in the manufacture of military and police equipment such as tear gas canisters, flash grenades, breaching munitions, and handcuffs.
