This year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s is still taking place this weekend but participants are encouraged to do so virtually.
The event will take place Saturday but instead of gathering as a large group as in years past, those who would like to help with this effort can walk as individuals or small groups on any sidewalk, track, or trail.
Participants are encouraged to use the Walk to End Alzheimer’s mobile app to connect with others leading up to the event as well as on the day of the walk. An opening ceremony featuring local speakers will be offered and a small group of staff and volunteers will create the iconic Promise Garden at Cranberry Township Community Park.
Funds will go to support various programs for caregivers and those dealing with the disease as well as research programs to move closer to finding reliable treatments.
