Butler County’s top election official says that the number of mail-in ballot requests are nearly double that of the primary.
Director of Elections Aaron Sheasley gave an election update at yesterday’s county commissioner’s meeting and said that his office has had just over 42,000 mail-in ballot requests.
He also said that he expects ballots to be sent out starting this Friday.
Again, Sheasley stressed for people to follow all the instructions that are provided inside the mail-in ballot envelope.
County officials also said they will not be installing drop-off boxes for mail-in ballots. They cited that the logistics were essentially impossible, and that it wasn’t feasible at this time.
The deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot is October 27th; all ballots must be post-marked by November 3rd at 5 p.m.
