Local independent music venues are asking the public for help in an effort to help them receive financial help.
The petition is called #SavePAVenues and it aims to ask state legislators to provide financial relief through the state’s remaining CARES Act funding in order to keep independent venues open through the pandemic.
Concerts have been one of many entertainment causalities as a result of coronavirus restrictions—with the National Independent Venues Association saying they contribute $6 billion to the state’s economy.
