The Butler Area School District is taking action following a positive test for COVID-19 in the Center Township Elementary School community.
According to Superintendent Dr. Brian White, an unidentified individual from the community recently notified the district of the positive test.
The district has already notified those who may have had close contact with this person. The district has also sanitized the areas of the school this person most recently came into contact with over and above the stringent cleaning procedures already in place.
The district continues to communicate with the state Department of Health for guidance and direction. Center Township families are asked to continue closely monitoring the health of students over the next two weeks.
