It was the final day of campaigning before the polls open, and both presidential candidates made stops in Pennsylvania.
Joe Biden spoke at a drive-in rally last night near Heinz Field.
“My message to you is simple,” Biden said. “The power to change this country is in your hands.”
President Trump meanwhile made a stop near Scranton.
“If you want your children to be safe, if you want your values to be respected, if you just want to be treated with respect, I’m asking you to go and vote for your favorite president.”
Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA 16) was also optimistic of the President’s chances.
“I feel very good about the election. I feel very good about this area. I think he’ll duplicate, and maybe exceed what he did in 2016,” Kelly said.
Ultimately though, Kelly is looking forward to the election and keeping an American tradition.
“I want it to be very peaceful, and if there’s a transition it needs to be a peaceful transition. No matter who wins, let’s make sure we remain who we’ve always been in the greatest country in the world,” Kelly said. “We let these transitions take place, without having a violent response to it.”
“The world looks at us,” Kelly said. “And when America acts up, they start to think to themselves something’s wrong. I never want to give that impression to anybody and I never want to change who we are, and that’s the greatest country in the world.”
Polling data shows that Pennsylvania and its 20 electoral votes could make it the tipping point state in this year’s election.
