Pennsylvania officials say even though the vote count is slowly rolling in, things are going smoothly across the Commonwealth.
Department of State Secretary Kathy Boockvar oversees the election and provided an update around 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
“We are exactly where we said we would be,” Boockvar said. “So, we said it was going to take some time to count the mail-in ballots. We are approaching 50 percent of the mail-in ballots counted, which is great.”
Governor Tom Wolf stressed that voters need to be patient with the process.
“I encourage all of us to take a deep breath and be patient,” Wolf said. “What is most important is that we have accurate results, even if it takes a little longer.”
As of Wednesday morning, there were nearly 1.5 million mail-in ballots that needed to be counted across Pennsylvania.
