Administrators believe that the 2021 Butler Township budget can once again be balanced using existing anticipated revenue.
Butler Township administrators and department heads presented their needs to the commissioners Thursday night as part of the annual budget meeting.
According to Township manager Tom Knights, the size of the budget is expected to decrease by about $473,000 to just over $7.5 million total which is largely as a result of an anticipated loss in revenue due to COVID-related business closures.
Budgetary expenses include two new police vehicles, as well as a RAM 5500 truck and tractor for use by the road and parks departments. The Township also expects to invest in a new SUV for code enforcement.
The commissioners will pass a preliminary 2021 budget with a vote later this month before finalizing the plan for next year in December.
