67 new cases of COVID-19 were reported for Butler County Monday.
That comes with 126 negative test results, giving the report a 34.7 percent positivity rate.
As of Monday morning, Butler Memorial Hospital is treating 26 patients for the coronavirus, which is an increase of four people over Friday’s local report. Four people are currently in the ICU.
Butler Health System reported two deaths to the state on Saturday and an additional two on Sunday. BHS confirms the highest local incidence of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic with the virus actively spreading through the Butler community.
This past weekend saw 206 new total cases for the county.
The state Department of Health is reporting 6,311 new cases over the past two days. There were four additional deaths reported today.
Hospitalizations are also increasing across the state. There were 500 more patients hospitalized in Pennsylvania this past week.
Butler Health System is asking for everyone to help in reducing the risk of infection by:
o Avoiding large events and mass gatherings.
o Avoiding close contact (less than 6 feet) with anyone who is sick or has symptoms.
o Be very careful having school-age and college-age youth around family members who are otherwise avoiding contact with others.
o Always cover mouth and nose when in public spaces. Wash hands frequently. Don’t touch face. Cover coughs and sneezes. Maintain a minimum distance of 6 feet from others. Practice good hygiene.
o Anyone who feels sick should stay home.
