As state lawmakers return to Harrisburg soon, there are hopes that funding could be coming to industries hit hard by the pandemic.
County Commissioner Kevin Boozel said there is currently just over a billion dollars in unused CARES Act funding that could be directed to those in the hospitality and entertainment industry.
“We all know that bars and restaurants have been tagged,” Boozel said. “We just got off a phone call with legislators who want to put dollars into those industries to keep them open. So that was good.”
Boozel said that the state needed to get a budget done soon, so he’s hoping to hear more guidance from the state on how those dollars will be spent.
