Police believe a woman was under the influence of a controlled substance during a crash that sent a young boy to the hospital.
The two vehicle accident happened just after 4 p.m. Wednesday on Saxonburg Boulevard near Deer Creek Road.
Police say a vehicle driven by 28-year-old Marriah Monteleone crossed the yellow line and hit a pickup truck driven by 53-year-old Anthony Huerbin.
A seven-year-old boy, who was in the car with Monteleone, had to be flown to Children’s Hospital, although the extent of his injuries are unclear. There was also a one-year-old child in Monteleone’s car, but he was uninjured.
Police say they believe Monteleone was under the influence of a controlled substance, but no specifics were revealed.
She and Huerbin were both taken to area hospitals for their injuries.
