After signing the state’s attestation form, the Butler Area School District is planning on returning to in-person instruction.
The district announced last night that elementary students will return to the classroom starting next Thursday.
Meanwhile, secondary students will return on Monday, December 14th using the hybrid-cohort model. That means students will have a staggered schedule and be taught using a combination of in-person and remote instruction.
The state’s attestation form outlines the maximum amount of active coronavirus cases each building is allowed to have before closing down that particular school.
Superintendent Dr. Brian White says parents should be prepared that schools could change their operating status quickly, because of the new state regulations.
“The new guidance really changes the school’s operating status on a school-by-school basis, not the district,” White said. “This is determined by the number of active cases, which can change quickly. Meaning, that we might end up with mid-week closures instead of the end of the week, where families would have time.”
