According to a new report from the New York Post, the Pittsburgh Penguins received nearly $5 million in funds from the Paycheck Protection Program.
Officials from the organization said it was used to help pay their rent to the Sports and Exhibition Authority, which is the landlord of the PPG Paints Arena.
The Penguins furloughed 40 employees during the summer, but they maintained full health benefits, before bringing those workers back in the fall.
According to Forbes, the Penguins are worth around $650 million.
