With colder temperatures expected to settle in this weekend, AAA is reminding drivers to not leave cars running in an enclosed space.
They say starting a car and keeping it run in a garage can lead to the dangerous emission of carbon monoxide—which can cause severe injury or death.
AAA officials also say it’s important for drivers to make sure their car’s exhaust pipe isn’t clogged with snow, ice, or mud.
Data shows that more than 400 Americans die each year due to unintentional carbon monoxide poisoning.
