Gas prices are continuing to rise locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, shot up to $3.07 per gallon which is a dime more than last week.
Prices rose by nine cents to $3.05 per gallon across western Pennsylvania as a whole over the past week. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in New Castle at $ 2.97 per gallon, while the most expensive is $3.10 in Warren.
The average national gas price has risen by a nickel over the last week to $2.77 which marks a 31 cent increase over the last month and 40 cents more than one year ago. AAA reports refinery utilization is at an all-time low and crude oil reached the highest price in nearly two years.
