A local student group is holding an outdoor activity this weekend with COVID-19 guidelines in place.
Butler’s Best Buddies Club is holding an Eggstravaganza on Saturday that will include a 5K Easter Egg Dash on the campus of the Butler Senior and Intermediate High Schools beginning at 10 a.m. Participants will be required to sign a COVID-19 waiver and will be encouraged to socially distance. Race day cash only registration will be available.
This event will also include a one mile fun run and walk at 11 a.m. as well as Easter Egg hunts for kids of different ages at noon. Participants can enjoy free pre-packaged refreshments and snacks as well as raffle baskets, other prizes, and pictures with the Easter Bunny.
Best Buddies is an international non-profit organization with a mission to create opportunities for one-to-one friendship between students with intellectual or developmental disabilities and other peer students. Buddy pairs talk at least once a week, spend time together at least twice a month, and gather for group activities once a month.
