Governor Tom Wolf is set to announce that all students and staff in kindergarten through 12th grade will be required to wear masks while indoors at school.
Wolf had said earlier this year that he didn’t anticipate masks being necessary inside schools, but as COVID cases and hospitalizations climb he is reversing that decision.
Mask-wearing for students has become a contentious debate at school board meetings in Western Pennsylvania. Right now, Seneca Valley is the only public school district to require masks.
This policy is set to go into effect next Tuesday.
