Cheerleaders and bands are a common sight on the sidelines of a high school football game, but fans of the Mars Planets are seeing a new group join the Friday night fun.
The high school recently introduced a new Varsity Dance Team this school year. The club team is open for 9th through 12th graders who perform hip-hop, jazz, and poms-style dances.
Nearly two dozen students are a part of the new team. Coaches say interest in a dance team grew, especially after the last couple of school musicals.
The team performs at every Mars football home game, and will make its debut during the wrestling season later this year.
