There are still a number of Butler County residents without power following yesterday’s strong storms.
A mix of powerful winds and a downpour of rain rolled through the area around 4 p.m. The storms led to downed trees and wires as well as power outages.
As of noon today, there were just under 300 residents without power, but that number was over 2,000 yesterday afternoon.
Emergency responders handled more than two dozen calls for downed wires and trees over the last 24 hours.
At one point, the National Weather Service says wind gusts were over 50 miles per hour.
