A challenge to Pennsylvania’s new Congressional map was turned down by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Republicans filed the appeal to the nation’s highest court arguing that the new map favored Democrats. However, the Supreme Court decided not to hear the argument.
Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court chose the map after the state house and Governor Tom Wolf could not come to an agreement.
Under the new map, Butler County is contained in the 16th District, which is currently represented by Republican Mike Kelly.
