The U.S. Department of Defense has designated April as the Month of the Military Child and a local district is recognizing kids in families that are providing the country with military service.
Mars Area Middle School is asking students in seventh and eighth grades to wear the color purple on Thursday to emphasize the important role that families with kids play in the armed forces.
A world map marked with all the places that the Mars Area Middle School’s military students have traveled will be on display in the school’s cafeteria.
More information about this effort can be found on the website of the Department of Defense as well as by entering the hashtag PurpleUp4MilitaryKids on social media.
