A local lawmaker is demanding answers about learning material that he believes is being targeted at young students.
Republican State Representative Aaron Bernstine, who represents part of northern Butler County, recently wrote a letter to the state secretary for education concerning a diagram called “Gender Unicorn”.
Bernstine said that someone attending a seminar at a local university told him that drawings of a “Gender Unicorn” and a “Genderbread Person” were used to direct future teachers about how to have conversations about gender with kids as young as kindergarten.
Bernstine claims that the material originated with the United States Department of Education before being passed along by the state education agency.
