Saturday marks the first ever Butler County History Day.
The idea was conceived by the county’s Tourism and Convention Bureau to highlight museums and places that played an important role in Butler’s history.
Jen Ford is with the Historical Society and says museums, like the Little Red Schoolhouse, are eager to open back to the public after the pandemic restrictions for the past couple of years.
“It was a double-edged sword because some people ignore these places are too close and too familiar, but with it being closed for the past two years it became all that much easier to overlook,” Ford said.
