The company that purchased the former South Butler Volunteer Fire station last year is moving forward with plans to use the building.
Representatives of a company called AERCO presented plans to the Butler Township Planning Commission Tuesday night to use the facility and large parking lot at the corner of Old Plank and Litman roads for heavy equipment sales, rental, and service.
The company plans to operate from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a couple of employees and cater to commercial contractors. Although some minor interior renovations are planned, the main work will take place creating three clear entrances and exits to the facility from Old Plank Road as well as eliminating any access from Litman Road.
After securing approval from the Planning Commission, AERCO will next seek final approval from Butler Township Commissioners later this month.
