A state-wide organization is encouraging residents to soil their undies.
According to the Pennsylvania Soil Health Coalition, soil health can be tested by burying 100% cotton underwear for 60 days.
Since cotton is an organic compound, microbes, worms, and other soil dwelling creatures will consume the garment, so the less underwear left after two months, the healthier the soil.
More information about the Soil Your Undies Challenge can be found on the PA Soil Health website. Participants are encouraged to share pictures on social media.
