A man is facing charges for allegedly strangling a teenager and attacking a woman.
According to charging documents, 50-year-old Matthew Fitzpatrick of Saxonburg was at an apartment on McCalmont Road Wednesday night when an argument broke out between him and the victim.
Police say the argument escalated and Fitzpatrick tried to take over $400 in rent money from the victim. She tried to get the money back, but he allegedly shoved her into a vanity.
That’s when the teen jumped on Fitzpatrick to move him off the victim.
Police say Fitzpatrick then pushed the teen onto a bed and began to choke him.
Eventually, Fitzpatrick left the area, but police say they found him in his car on a nearby street and took him into custody.
The victim alleged that Fitzpatrick was intoxicated at this time. Police say during the interview, Fitzpatrick denied the allegations.
He is charged with multiple counts of felony assault, strangulation, and robbery.
