A once-plentiful fish in Western Pennsylvania may soon be making a comeback.
Officials with the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission say they have plans to reintroduce the blue catfish.
It’s one of the largest catfishes in the species and was found especially in the Ohio and Monongahela Rivers in the early 1900s.
Officials say there have been recent catches of the blue catfish in the Ohio River, leading them to believe the fish could be successfully restored in the area.
Exact plans have still not been put together.
