Slippery Rock University’s Juwon Hall was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Special Teams Player of the Week Monday. Hall compiled 154 all-purpose yards in The Rock’s 31-17 win over Mercyhurst Saturday. He ran the opening kick-off of the game 97-yards for a touchdown, and later caught a receiving touchdown. Slippery Rock will host Gannon this Saturday at 1pm. The Rock enters the game 5-1. Gannon is also 5-1, but are 3-0 in PSAC-West play at tied for first place with IUP.
NFL Monday Night Football:
–The Kansas City Chiefs overcame a 17-point deficit to defeat the Las Vegas Raiders 30-29. Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce had a Monday Night Football record four touchdown catches in the game. The Chiefs improved to 4-1 with the victory. The Raiders fell to 1-4.
The Carolina Panthers have fired head coach Matt Ruhle who is in his third season, but carrying an 11-27 overall record. The Panthers are off to a 1-4 start following a 37-15 loss to San Francisco. Carolina will still owe Ruhle $40 million. He was given a guaranteed $62 million contract by the Panthers to leave college football in 2020. He previously coached at Temple and Baylor, then made the jump to the NFL.
