Nominations are now open to recognize the Trail of the Year in Pennsylvania.
The annual contest is supported by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
It started in 2014 as a way to bring awareness to the Keystone State’s vast network of trails for hiking and biking.
DCNR officials say they want Pennsylvania to be recognized as one of the states in the country putting heavy focus on outdoor recreation. They cite trails as one of the best ways for residents to connect to nature.
The deadline is November 11th. Entries can be submitted on DCNR’s website.
