Those interested in helping at local state park while enjoying the beauty of nature will have an opportunity this weekend.
Volunteers are needed at Moraine State Park on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for a Trail Crew Work Day at the Sunken Garden Trail on the South Shore.
The Moraine Preservation Fund and park staff will lead participants in projects including installing culverts on the hiking trail, cleaning out drainage swales, and cutting back overgrowth. Training and tools will be provided. Those planning to attend are asked to wear sturdy shoes and dress for working outdoors as well as bring water and work gloves.
Pre-registration by calling the park office is requested for those planning to bring a group.
