Zelma “Mickey” Fisher passed away peacefully in the early hours of Tuesday, Dec 6th, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late Horton and Bertha (Upton) Sparks on October 18th, 1930 in Akron, OH and was the youngest of three siblings.
Mickey received her Master’s Degree in Christian Education from Clarksville School of Theology. She went on to help in the establishment of Homeacre Christian Academy where she flourished in her teaching career. In addition to teaching, her most important roles were as wife, mother and grandmother. Mickey married her late husband, Pastor David Fisher, on February 14th, 1950 and spent 71 wonderful years with him. She loved the family they created, especially her grandchildren, and looked forward to time spent with her whole family. She also cherished church fellowship. Her unyielding faith was always shared with those around her. She will be dearly missed by all.
She is survived by 6 children; Dawn Oesterling, Roseann Thornton, Jeanna Stallings, Daniel Fisher, Nathan Fisher and Rebecca Ray. In addition, she leaves 12 Grandchildren, 34 Great grandchildren, and 2 Great Great-Grandchildren.
Zelma’s burial services will be held privately by SPENCER D GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 NEW CASTLE RD, BUTLER, PA 16001. WWW.SPENCERDGEIBEL.COM. However, friends & family will be received on Sunday, December 11th, at 1:15pm at Homeacre Chapel, for a memorial service held in her honor.
