State officials believe a recent investment in manufacturing will help bolster the industry.
The Department of Labor and Industry, along with the Department of Community and Economic Development have allocated $30 million in recent months to go toward education and training related to manufacturing.
The funds are designed to increase educational opportunities for things like robotics, computer-numerical control and the technical aspects of manufacturing.
It’s estimated that 500,000 workers in Pennsylvania are employed in the manufacturing industry.
