Officials with PennDOT are asking smokers to stop throwing cigarette butts out the car window.
In an effort to help curb littering, PennDOT encourages motorists to keep the butts in their vehicles until they can be disposed of properly.
They also say that cigarette butts can leach toxic chemicals into the environment.
