As January winds to a close, the American Red Cross is making a final push to get people to donate blood.
January is National Blood Donor Month and officials with the organization say the start of the year always coincides with a blood supply shortage.
A number of blood drives are scheduled for Butler County in the beginning of February, and the Red Cross is urging residents to sign up for an appointment.
The next blood drive is happening February 7th at Slippery Rock University.
