The Mars Area School Board is seeking businesses interested in sponsoring a sign along a busy road.
At their meeting earlier this week, the board directed administrators to advertise for bids for the sign in front of the High School along Route 228.
Mars Bank will be given the option of renewing their sponsorship at a cost of $25,000 for up to four years but PennDOT may remove the sign sooner depending on how quickly work progresses on the Route 228 project.
The other company on the sign was Austin’s industrial cleaning manufacturer but that company was sold to a Canadian firm in 2018. This plan does not include any cost to the district.
