Gas prices have continued to decrease slightly both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, dropped by four cents over the past week to land at $3.74 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole sank by three cents during that same time to reach $3.80. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Sharon at $3.68, while the most expensive is $3.90 in Mercer.
The average national gas price remained event over the past week at $3.41 which is 13 cents more per gallon than a month ago and seven cents less than one year ago.
Demand for gas has dipped slightly but the cost of oil increased as a result of market optimism about global oil demand.
