The State Senate returns to session this week and they’ll be faced with a decision on a bill that would help victims of childhood sexual abuse cases in which the statute of limitations have expired.
Speaker of the House Mark Rozzi is encouraging the Senate to pass the bills that were approved last week.
“They can easily gavel in the special session. They can do the duel path like [the House] just did. They can put the constitutional amendment on the ballot for November but also can pass the House bill, which is the statutory bill. They can deliver justice to survivors,” Rozzi said.
The Republican-led Senate passed a bill last month that contained three proposed constitutional amendments—however Democrats opposed two of the amendments in the bill.
