Butler Area School District will be reimbursed for allowing the instillation of poles that are expected to result in improved cell phone reception.
At their meeting earlier this week, the Butler Board approved an agreement with Verizon for poles in the Intermediate and Senior High parking lots pending solicitor review.
One pole will be added to an existing light pole while another will be freestanding. The installation is likely to take place over the summer.
In exchange the district will receive $3,000 every year for five years.
