State police say one man is dead and woman is in custody after a shooting Monday afternoon in northern Butler County.
According to an investigation, police found that the shooting happened sometime in the afternoon at a home on Kohlmeyer Road in Venango Township.
Police say Jessica Callahan of Hilliards got into an argument with Tyler Whitlatch of West Sunbury and allegedly shot him.
She then drove herself and Whitlatch about five miles away to the North Washington Rodeo Grounds and called 9-1-1 around 3:15 p.m.
Police arrived and pronounced Whitlatch dead at the scene.
Callahan was taken into custody and charged with criminal homicide.
Police briefly shut down Route 38 in both directions.
Police also described the incident as an isolated event and say at no time was there any public safety concerns.
