A bill has been introduced in the state legislature that would require health insurance companies to cover preventive health screenings.
The bill would cover things like colonoscopies, mammograms, pap smears, and other procedures that screen for cancer or other conditions where family history or previous conditions would put the individual at risk.
The law was proposed after a federal judge struck down a portion of that requirement which was initially included in the Affordable Care Act.
