Drivers who use I-79 in Muddy Creek Township should be aware of an overnight closure later this week.
Starting Thursday night, a portion of I-79 will be shutdown in both directions near the Portersville Bridge, as crews will be demolishing the first stage of the bridge.
The work is set to begin at 8 p.m. and wrap up at 6 a.m. Once the initial demolition is done, officials say there will still be two-lane traffic on Route 488 throughout the project.
The detour will take northbound traffic to Exit 96 and then hop back on I-79 via the northbound ramp. Southbound traffic will use Exit 99 and then Route 422 to Route 19 and then Route 488 before getting back on I-79.
