A local lawmaker is recovering from a routine medical procedure which resulted in a recent missed vote.
According to U.S. Representative Mike Kelly, doctors recommended that he avoid traveling long distances as he recovers.
This caused Kelly to be absent for the recent vote on the “Limit, Save, Grow Act of 2023” which passed the House along partisan lines as Republicans attempt to control federal spending.
Kelly claims that he is making a speedy recovery and plans to continue meeting with constituents as well as return to Washington in the coming days.
