Another Western Pennsylvania lawmaker is asking President Biden to step up efforts to release a Butler native from a Russian prison.
Republican Congressman Guy Reschenthaler recently met with family members of Marc Fogel—a Butler native who is currently imprisoned in Russia due to having medicinal marijuana.
Reschenthaler, and other lawmakers, have asked Biden and the State Department to classify Fogel as “wrongfully detained.”
Fogel was teaching in Russia when he was detained back in August 2021 for possessing medicinal marijuana. He was sentenced to 14 years of hard labor.
