The Pennsylvania Game Commission is moving ahead with a plan to change its license-issuing agent program.
Following recent changes in how licenses are sold, the Commission decided to assess the impact on license sales and business costs with a goal of reducing regulations and costs for license-selling partners.
The Commission gave preliminary approval to a proposal that would reduce the annual issuing agent application fee from $500 to $200. The Commission also plans to reduce the annual bond rate from $18,000 to $11,000, reduce the annual minimum sales requirement from 50 to 25 with mentored hunting permits included in sales figures, and eliminate the current November through March agent application window.
These changes will go before the Commission for final approval in September.
