A Portersville man was taken to an area hospital after a crash Tuesday evening in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.
The accident happened around 9:45 p.m. in the westbound lane of Route 422, near the intersection with Copper Road.
Police say 21-year-old George Merrill began having a medical emergency and lost consciousness. His vehicle then went across the highway, into a guiderail, and overturned.
Merrill was taken by ambulance to a New Castle trauma center with unknown injuries.
His car was significantly damaged in the accident.
