A deadline is approaching for veterans to sign up for full backdated health care benefits under the new PACT Act.
The bill expanded and extended eligibility for permanent VA health care and benefits—especially for post-9/11 veterans who may have been exposed to burn pits and other toxins during military deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.
Officials say in order to backdate claims and take full advantage of the law, veterans need to file a claim by August 9th.
There is no deadline to file future claims for PACT benefits.
