A Mercer County woman is facing charges after she allegedly put tape around the mouth and head of her grandson.
State police have charged 52-year-old Susan Schultz of Fredonia with assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
Police were called to Oakview Elementary School in Sandy Lake Township last Thursday for a six-year-old with bruising on his neck. Police talked with the child who said that his grandmother, who was Schultz, put tape around his mouth and head after he wasn’t listening.
The child told police he was in pain and police discovered significant bruising on the back of the boy’s neck. Another relative of the child also confirmed the story to police.
Schultz denied the allegations. She was taken to the Mercer County Jail and released on unsecured bond.
