The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education says they are seeing enrollment increases this year.
However, the newly formed Penn West University did not follow suit among its peers. The combination of Edinboro, Clarion, and California has an enrollment of 11,305—which is down almost 1,500 students compared to last year. That’s about an 11 percent drop.
Slippery Rock University had a slight gain of 1.4 percent with a total enrollment over 8,000 students.
PASSHE leaders say the rise in enrollment could be aided in part by tuition prices, which remain at $7,700.
