The Pine Richland School District is weighing the process of removing of books from the school library after hearing from community members at a school board meeting earlier this week.
Around a dozen people spoke at the meeting, expressing concern over the content of some books that are in the library. They believe that some books are inappropriate for school age children.
School officials told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that parents can fill out a form on the district’s website challenging a book, which would then head to a committee to decide.
However, none of the books have been formally challenged yet so the committee has not been formed.
The books will stay in circulation during a challenge.
